I have described myself in many ways over the years. I've been a friend, a daughter, a sister, a dog mom, a struggling but aspiring fashionista, a student, an employee, a volunteer, a manager, an adventurer, and sometimes even a party starter. Above all, I have always added writer to that list. Until today, I didn't share that writing with anyone. The fear of being humiliated, rejected, or having no one read my thoughts at all scared me into inaction. I scribbled poems in the corners of old grocery lists and I recorded voice memos when curled up in my comforter at night, hoping that one day I'd have the courage to share them.
One of my close friends once told me I'm the bravest person she's met, and I wore that like a badge of honor. I prided myself in being bold and brave and charging through life unafraid of the future. Truthfully, I was terrified. Sometimes, I still am. I've been through bad breakups, career changes, life altering news and yet, I'm still here. I credit that to being bold enough to be me. The me that's goofy and awkward and loyal and undeniably brave, despite the pressure to be smaller. To take up less space. To be quiet. To be less direct. To essentially, stop being me.
A recent life change led me here, to you and this late night blog creation, to tell you that you are not alone. You can be you, and have an amazing career. You can be you, and fulfill the fitness dreams you've always wanted. You can be you, and go on adventures to experience new places and people. You can be bold, babe.
Stay tuned, as I'll post my own tips and tricks to staying true to yourself, balancing all that life has given you, and achieving your wildest, boldest dreams.
xoxo
